Eye to Eye

Historically, nations lose their bearings once they begin persecuting Jews. Look it up. Bill Koenig’s classic book, Eye to Eye, thoroughly documents what happens to the United States once leaders make decisions that impact Israel negatively. For example, one can easily track America’s troubles from the time of the Gaza pullout by Israel in 2005. George W. Bush and his team put enormous pressure (we’ll never know just how much!) on Ariel Sharon to turn over Gaza to Muslim terrorists. Ostensibly, it was to provide a framework for the “Palestinians” to practice having their own state. Notice the way nations have treated the Arabs like children, rather than adults who could in fact nation-build.
We all know what happened. By 2006, after 8,000 Israelis left behind infrastructure for farms and high-tech, Hamas took control and the Arabs immediately upon taking possession a year before smashed all those businesses the Jews had left for them. It was a catastrophe still felt today.
One can trace America’s demise in part to that period. An unknown politician emerged in 2006 and two years later, the friend to the Arabs Barack Obama began unraveling America.
It has been pointed out by astute observers that since America obligated herself to “rebuild” Gaza, and not properly acknowledge the atrocities of Oct. 7, our beloved country became vulnerable. We had high hopes at the end of 2024, but as is usual, good things kind of went by the wayside. If we’re in the Golden Age of prosperity, most of us don’t feel it. Beyond that, the strategy vs. Iran seems muddled. Also, the Democrats have only ludicrous candidates for president in ’28, but we’ve already seen in 2020 that mediocrity can rise to the top through deceit and theft. In short, we don’t seem to be on the right track.
The argument can be made that our Gaza policy is heavily responsible.
There are upwards of 60 million tons of concrete all over Gaza. Even the hapless Steve Witkoff—a NYC realtor—said it would take perhaps 15 years to rebuild the trash heap brought on by Hamas. Any rebuilding beginning now is slowed by tribal rivalries, restriction of bulldozers in military zones, and “slow” funding. No kidding. Even neighboring Arab states detest the “Palestinian” Arabs.
The bizarre plans of those in leadership, such as Jared Kushner, envision data centers, industrial zones. You know, plans hatched by capable countries. Not 7th century murderers.
Get a load of this idea from the UN:
“One of the most technically and politically sensitive options is to recycle debris to extend the enclave’s Mediterranean coastline and create artificial islands offshore.”
Say what?
This is as good an idea as the floating dock we paid for that was swept out to sea.
Even the very hapless (and evil?) UN recognizes that if a bit more than half of the debris could be recycled, it would still only supply 10 percent of material needed for this insane idea of “artificial islands.” Wow!
At present, it’s felt that $71 billion will be needed to rebuild the Gaza Strip. I wouldn’t give a penny to rebuild but let the killers fend for themselves. But the West is weak. You and I will fund this evil project. Here are the opening lines of the Board of Peace “peace plan” hatched by President Trump:
“Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbours. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”
How naïve can they be? Hamas is already winning by refusing to disarm. This was another toothless threat from the U.S. Demanding Hamas disarm while any of them remain alive is folly.
Even the Board of Peace is yet another attempt by the West to apply common sense to Arab sensibilities. Can’t be done. The most the Board of Peace participants will get out of this is embroidered jackets and logo tumblers. Maybe pens with “Board of Peace” stamped on them.
Meanwhile, Israel will do the heavy-lifting, fighting for survival. What is clearly happening is that as the common sense of the West recedes with each concession from Israel in her own land, we are all moving closer to the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord.
It’s coming.
