The volatile Judea & Samaria
By Jim Fletcher
In addition to fighting for its life regionally, Israel must contend with a lethal
element in its own midst—a tough situation brought about directly by Western
malevolency 35 years ago.
Remember, at a time when Yasser Arafat had run out of steam. His terrorism of
the previous three decades had lost its bloom. He wasn’t very effective, and his brutal
murder streak was off-putting to a world that still had somewhat of a conscience. This
was after all only a few decades after the Holocaust (a slaughterhouse so extreme even
the Jew-haters blushed).
Israeli leader Yitzhak Rabin was though being called “The Bone Crusher” by pro-
Arab forces, including the corrupt media. He did have an unyielding way of dealing with
the terror killers. The IDF didn’t play nice.
But an historic obstacle emerged with the transition between Ronald Reagan and
the Israel foe George H.W. Bush. His New England, mainline church, Cold War advisor
style leadership had no love for Israel and the Jews. Secretary of State James Baker, in
particular, was nasty. By 1991, after the Gulf War victory, Bush felt he had the political
capital to force Israel to negotiate with the PLO (“Palestine” Liberation Organization—a
group conceived of by the Soviets and the East German police, who schooled the dwarf
Arafat in political and physical terror tactics).
Think of it. This was as if George Marshall had contacted Nazi officials on April 1,
1945 and opened negotiations with Hitler. Arafat in the early 90s was irrelevant, hiding
in a cave in Tunisia.
So what do Bush & Friends do? Haul Arafat out, give him a hot bath and clean
clothes, and present him as a statesman! He had by that time murdered so many
people he could rightly be called a serial killer.
By the time Bill Clinton took office in January, 1993, the infamous Oslo Accords
were in place. A Norwegian-led diplomatic move to force a Palestinian State. We know
how that turned out.
Today, the “Palestinian” entity of Arabs forced on Israel, in its heartland, is an
existential threat to the Jewish state. Cities like Jenin and Nablus are hotbeds of Hamas
and Islamic Jihad gargoyles. The IDF must remain vigilant, because the Arabs are
killing and planning terror 24/7. A report from The Amit Terrorism and Intelligence
Research Institute:
“In Nablus, a Palestinian terrorist operative suspected of attempting to attack
Israeli civilians was detained. He had been wanted since he had been active in the Lions’ Den terrorist network in Nablus, which was effectively dismantled by the Israeli security forces in 2022. Another wanted Palestinian was detained in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus (Israel Police spokesperson and IDF spokesperson, August 31, 2026).
Israeli security forces detained a Palestinian woman armed with a knife at the Ganot
Junction in Samaria after receiving information that she planned to carry out a stabbing
(IDF spokesperson, August 26, 2026).”
In addition to that, notice that the attacks are prepared even for the capital,
Jerusalem:
“A 16-year-old from the Galilee was charged with contacting an individual linked
to ISIS, swearing allegiance to the organization and intending to attack Jewish police
officers and soldiers on the Temple Mount. An indictment was filed for a 19-year-old
Israeli Arab who swore allegiance to ISIS and planned to attack an IDF base in northern
Israel (Israel Police spokesperson, August 28, 2026).”
ISIS!
At the same time, Jewish residents in the communities of Judea and Samaria
carried out their own violence in the last week, as they destroyed crops and attempted
to take over a water well near Ramallah (Arafat’s former headquarters). These isolated
incidents also serve to demonize Israel in the international media.
The PA “foreign ministry” organized visits by diplomats to these destruction sites,
arming their media friends with more anti-Jewish propaganda.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with the PA vice president and
various Fatah officials to work on “Palestinian unity,” a sure sign it is not as robust as
they hoped. They are doing this to keep the idea of a “Palestinian” state on the table.
That whole idea is so stale and stupid, one wonders why even in this insane culture it is
still discussed. But we know its proponents will never give up on the idea because it will
be used as a launching pad for their hoped destruction of all Israel. Can you imagine
Arab bases six miles from Israel? And we don’t know what will happen when Trump and
Netanyahu leave office. Most of the candidates to succeed them are mediocre and
weak.
As we monitor the crazy Iran war, and watch Gaza and Lebanon, don’t forget to
pray for Israel’s heartland. War rages there, as well.
