As shared last week, we had finished talking with a man from Sydney, Australia who had given his life to Jesus as we waited for our luggage. We were rushing to leave Washington-Dulles airport because our Golden Retriever and sitter were rushing her to the veterinarian.
While I am talking on my iPhone with the vet, we get into a taxi. The taxi driver is very young. He is having a conversation with my husband. He is from Ethiopia. He is new to the U.S. This is his first job. He is just learning the D.C. area.
While on the iPhone, I am thinking, “I have to end this call so that I can tell this young man about Jesus.”
I asked him if he would like to know Jesus as His Savior. He said that he was not sure.
I told him that without Him, he cannot go to Heaven. He says, “Oh, I want to go to heaven.” I said, “Well without believing in Jesus, you cannot.” He said, “ I am not sure.” I say to him, “Well, then there is hell.” His response is, “Oh, I do not want to go to hell.”
I take the risk, “Okay, let’s pray to make sure that you do not miss heaven.”
While he is listening, he misses the exit on the freeway because of the decision he is about to make. He apologized.
Finally, He said, “Okay.” We pray, and this young Ethiopian who had just arrived in the U.S. gave his life to Jesus.
He said, “This is so great! Thank you! I feel so good!” I said that is the love of Jesus.
Now, no matter what happens, you will be in Heaven with Him. He is smiling and thanking me.
We arrived at the vet. I grabbed my suitcase and ran inside. My husband stayed to pay the taxi driver who was now a new believer in Christ.
It was not just about rushing to the vet. It was about Jesus rushing to the Ethiopian to save his soul! Praise His Name!
“Abba, Father, how you move just in time for a soul whose time it is to know Your Son! In a rush, You have not forgotten to claim a soul in it!
Messiah, how Your love is so strong! It moved the moment of a hurried conversations to the talk of Who You are, the Soul Savior.
Spirit of God, thank You for bringing this young specific Ethiopian into our rushing moments. You moved his life situations to be a taxi driver in the D.C area, who would hear the Word and believe in Jesus and have eternal life.
