Attempting to make sense out of Hurricane Harvey - Bill Koenig

It is certainly tragic and sad seeing the size and magnitude of the floods in Texas and the trials of so many people; their lives as they have known them will be impacted for years, if not forever.

I have good friends and family who live in the Houston areaMy wife, Claudia, is from Corpus Christi and has family still living there. I lived in Dallas for 22 years before moving to the Washington, D.C., area in January 2001. Houston and Texas has had many disasters in the last 20 plus years.

We are saddened to see these tragedies and cannot fully understand our sovereign God’s mysterious ways. I can’t explain them outside the fact that when the leaders of the world attempt to divide the covenant land of Israel, catastrophes happen, whether it is the United States or any other place in the world. Most of the events have happened in the United States because our American presidents have been the sponsors of the land-for-peace efforts.

The following is my effort to shed more light on these record-setting events that occur when the U.S. presidents pressure Israel to divide their covenant land and/or have behind the scene meetings on how Israel is to divide their covenant land that will lead to an Arab state in Israel’s biblical heartland.

Having watched weather and studied related disasters in the U.S. for the past 26 years, which began with the “land for peace” meeting in Madrid, Spain, in October 30 and 31, 1991, to Nov. 1, 1991, I have noticed a pattern that has developed and repeated itself frequently.

I observed that the greater the pressure on Israel to give up their covenant land the greater the corresponding catastrophe and/or event.

According to NOAA, there have been 171 billion-dollar events since Madrid in October 1991. In my updated “Eye to Eye,” I have documented 126 events corresponding to pressure on Israel. Over 100 are billion-dollar events. The odds of this happening are astronomical.

Catastrophes averted

I have also observed major catastrophes averted/stopped due to words spoken by our presidents.

Obama hosted Benjamin Netanyahu, Mahmoud Abbas, Hosni Mubarak and King Abdullah from Jordan at the White House for peace talks on Sept. 1-2, 2010. At that time, Hurricane Earl, which had become the size of Texas, was heading to D.C. and New York City. It was a Category 5 storm. Obama went from peace meetings to getting hurricane updates back and forth for two days. Then around noon on Sept. 2, Obama and Hillary Clinton stated separately that the U.S. would not pressure Israel or the Palestinians to do what they didn’t want to. Within an hour, Earl plummeted from a Category 5 that threatened D.C., Maryland, New Jersey and New York City, to a Category 2 and headed out to sea.

President George W. Bush and Ariel Sharon were at the U.N. in a meeting in September 2005. Bush said he wouldn’t pressure Israel to make peace. Immediately, Hurricane Ophelia, which was just off the Outer Banks of North Carolina, went back out to sea and ended on September 23.

After the monster Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma in 2005, G.W. Bush stated in 2006 that we could not pressure Israel to make peace with the Palestinians, and what was to be another big hurricane season like 2004 didn’t happen. There was only one tropical storm in Florida with 45 mph winds in all of 2006. As a matter of fact, Hurricane Harvey has been the first major hurricane to come ashore in the U.S. since 2005.

I have seen this phenomenon repeatedly. But when Israel is pressured to give up God’s covenant land, major catastrophes happen. You can sense in the spirit a collective fury, fire and/or wrath of God.

The remnant of Harvey was all that remained Saturday night, August 19, at 11:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time.

To the shock of professional observers, three and a half days later, on August 23, at 10:00 a.m. CDT, Harvey reorganized into a tropical depression; this was at the same time Trump’s people were arriving in Jerusalem for peace talks. By Wednesday night at 11:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time, the storm had become Tropical Storm Harvey.

At the time of the Kushner, Abbas meeting when Kushner stated Trump was prepared for a peace event in two to three months, the predicted Category 2 Hurricane Harvey jumped to a Category 4, the barometric pressure dropped to 941 millibars, a sign of major intensity that made Harvey just outside the top 10 most intense hurricanes to make landfall. Harvey slowed down, gained much more moisture, and became an enormous disaster, creating the largest rainfall total in any of the 50 states in U.S. history.

Truthfully, it is not my responsibility to be concerned about false associations or misinterpretations of this type of content or consequences. As a watchman, I am stating the land of Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem is not to be an Arab state. As history has shown, if this is attempted, the God of Israel will react and/or rebuke those attempting it.

The Trump administration is very supportive and friendly towards Israel. I emphasized that in detail in my “Eye to Eye” update.

I believe that Netanyahu is having an influence on Jared Kushner’s efforts. Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert had indictments slow them down, which could happen to Bibi too. I was with a good friend at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale in April 2001, and he told Netanyahu in person that Netanyahu would be the prime minister of Israel again, but if he agreed to give up the land, he would be a former prime minister once again. My friend wrote this on a plaque and presented it to him.

Moreover, Ariel Sharon came up with a disengagement plan to slow down U.S. pressure. Bush backed it, and the U.S. experienced the brunt of Katrina. When the last Jewish person was forced out of Gaza and Northern Samaria and Bush acknowledged the importance of doing this to get to his “two-state” vision, Katrina developed a few hours later off the coast of the Bahamas.

Last December, the U.N. Security Council adopted a major resolution demanding a halt to all Israeli settlement in "the occupied territories" after Barack Obama’s administration refused to veto the resolution. So why did Harvey happen now and not then?

The U.N. did this. There were a series of smaller things that happened at that time to Obama-Kerry which are in my book. But nothing major happened because “pressure to comply” was not exerted. Pressure produces consequences, not agreements.

The Trump, Kushner, Saudi plan is a comprehensive Middle East plan that will come through the Saudis, UAE, Jordan and Egypt, and they will tell Abbas what he is to do or else. Just as Kushner initiated the Trump speech to Muslim leaders in Riyadh in May, he has been working behind the scenes with the Saudis and UAE to make this happen. In turn, the U.S. will commit to defending the Sunni Arabs — many that border the Persian Gulf — against Iran, and Israel will receive a normalization of relationships. What will this cost Israel? Israel will give up a portion and/or large amounts of God’s covenant land. In keeping with the past pattern, the God of Israel knew all that was happening and the motives, and He apparently rebuked them this week via Harvey, Trump’s first national disaster.

President George W. Bush’s first national disaster was with China over a U.S. reconnaissance and happened the first ten days of April 2001, when Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak and Jordan’s King Abdullah where at the White House trying to convince Bush to become involved in the peace process.

The peace process was birthed by Houston resident George H.W. Bush in 1991, and the two-state plan was birthed by Dallas resident G.W. Bush in 2002. No city has had more catastrophes than Houston since Madrid, and no state has had more catastrophes than Texas.
