For about a year, we had been watching an apartment being built. After it was completed, we went to look at it. The leasing agent who assisted us took us to her office. She had a very attractive personality. As we talked, I mentioned that we were Christians and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior. I asked her if she believed in Him.
This leasing agent talked about her life experiences. She mentioned that others had told her she had a power due to her personality. I told her that the only one who has power is God.
She revealed that her mother had told her God loved her. She also said that friends have told her there is a purpose for her life, and she wanted to know what that was.
I told her that the God who loved her had a Son whose name is Jesus. She said, “I know that there is a God and He is real. I know that there is more, but I don’t know how to get there.”
I told her that it was very simple and asked if she was ready to know what that “more” was.
She put down her pen, turned her body around to face me completely, and simply said, “Yes, I am ready.”
I explained who Jesus is and what He did for us and that she must invite Him to be her personal Savior. I asked her if she would like to pray to do this. Her eyes opened wide and she quickly responded, “Yes, I want to do this.”
We prayed and this woman gave her life to Jesus! I explained where to start reading the Bible and that God would guide her daily through His Word as to what His purpose for her life is.
She said, “There is my answer. It is in the Bible!”
“Abba Father, I was watching a building being built, but you were watching a soul being prepared for salvation.”
“Jesus, what an amazing plan of salvation You had before us. We had no idea that You were at work, selecting the person who You were calling to Yourself to be the very one with whom we spoke.”
“Holy Spirit, how involved You are in the souls for Jesus. We could have gone any day to view that place, but You directed our footsteps that day for the one soul that Jesus wanted as His own.”
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:11
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Luke 11:28
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.1 Thessalonians 2:13
