We were driving in Israel, looking for an address to deliver the book Eye to Eye to an organization of one hundred thousand Orthodox Jews who believe in Bible prophecy. We were in a bit of a rush because we had a meeting to attend.
We called those in the organization to let them know where we were parked, but they could not find us. We had to reschedule delivering the book in order to be on time for the upcoming meeting.
The next day, we tried again. This time a young woman was assigned to meet us. When we met, we talked a little about the organization. Then the young woman began to talk about her new married life of three months. She was light skinned and very pretty. I asked her where she was from. She said she was from India. I was so surprised, because she did not look Indian at all. She did not have an Indian accent, nor the customary cultural communication. I told her that she did not look Indian at all! She said, “I know. It is something in the DNA.” She revealed she had married a Jewish young man and that living in Israel was very hard.
I asked her what her religious background was. She said she had gone to a Catholic church and then to a Presbyterian church. I asked her what the difference was to her. She said that one was very ritual and the other was more open. She did not mention anything about Jesus. She shared that now she was studying Judaism, and she was learning a lot, but that it was so hard to know what to do or to understand what to believe.
I told her it was not important to learn any of that, but to have a personal relationship with the Son of God. I shared that it was not a complicated understanding; it was very simple. She just had to ask the Son of God to be her Saviour.
I had been sitting in the car while talking to her. She was standing outside. So, I asked her to come closer and pray with me to believe in Jesus. She bowed her head and received the truth and believed in Jesus as Saviour. As she prayed, she began to cry deeply. I got out of the car and held her in my arms. I then prayed for her. She laid her head on my shoulder and cried more, letting out her deepest sighs.
She was very cheerful afterwards, assured that her confusion was no more! She met her personal Messiah—Jesus Christ—in Jerusalem, Israel. We talked about reading the Bible, and we held each other in a sweet embrace. She asked, “Will you please keep praying for me?” I assured her that I would.
To know that we were not able to make the connection the day before because God had this soul in mind for eternal salvation in Christ was such a blessing! And to know that she would be delivering the message in Eye to Eye to the organization of one hundred thousand Orthodox Jews was very exciting. God had chosen to use this young woman to deliver the book, as a young, newly-saved Christian!
“Abba, Father, I had no idea you had chosen a young Indian woman to know Your Son in Jerusalem in such an organization before you would use her to deliver Your message about the apple of your eye—Israel.”
“Messiah, Jesus, it was not expected of You, Lord, to lead us to a soul for salvation on this day!
I had not even thought that this young woman would be one that You would have me pray with to know You. How you surprised me! You are forever after souls!”
“Holy Spirit, how is it that you directed our schedule to meet this young woman whom God was drawing to His Son? You guided the whole situation just for this one soul whom Jesus wanted for Himself in eternity!”
