We are having to make short trips to Home Depot, because we need material to set up a new studio. One of the materials was not the same color as the first we had purchased, so we had to rush to this store first thing in the morning to exchange it before the cameraman arrived.
This particular morning, I woke up with fear about my health situation. I quickly began to look to the Lord in scripture to settle the anxiety going through me.
After my heart calmed, I sent a text to our friends in Germany. They were ready to minister to me through encouragement and God’s Word. I was strengthened through their kind words and belief in Jesus on my behalf. Thereafter, my husband asked me to join him on a trip to Home Depot to help him with the exchange for the correctly-colored material.
As we were checking out our merchandise, the customer ahead of us was finishing his purchase. As soon as the cashier was free, another cashier next to us asked to check us out.
I looked at the cashier we were initially going to use, and saw she was left standing alone as we moved on to the other cashier. As my husband was checking out, I looked at the first cashier standing alone and asked her where she was from. She smiled as she answered. She was very young. She then asked me where I was from. This is the second time that someone has asked me this. I answered her, and she revealed that she had family in that area. She told me she had tried to visit that area, but that she had taken very ill at that time and could not make the trip.
I thought about this for a moment and said, “The Lord kept you.” I was thinking, “I hope that the Lord keeps me too.”
She smiled and said, “It started out with a cold and then turned into something worse, but then I got better.”
Again I said, “The Lord kept you,” wondering how she would respond as I said this again. I then asked, “Do you know God?’
She looked at me with empty eyes and clearly responded, “No.”
I asked her, “Would you like to know Him?”
Her doubtful eyes looked rather confused as she said, “Who is He?”
I looked into her eyes and said, “His name is Jesus. He is the Son of God. Would you like know Him?”
I was surprised when she said, “Yes, I would.”
“Would you like to know Him now?”
She quickly said, “Yes!”
“Would you like to pray to know Him?” I asked.
Her wondering eyes looked straight into mine. She said, “Yes, I would.” We prayed, and she believed in Jesus and gave her life to Him.
As soon as we finished praying, she said, “My parents have never been religious. I can’t hold that against them. They are their own persons. But I have always wanted to know God. But there was no one to tell me, to guide me, to direct me.”
I was astonished that she was so hungry and thirsty for God! I asked her if she had a Bible. She said that she did. I asked her if it was a Catholic Bible. She said that it was. I asked her to look for just a Holy Bible. She said that her father loved to read history, and she was sure that in his collected books he had a Bible. I told her that if he did not, I would come by to give her one. I gave her my information.
We then talked about going to church. I suggested the church that we go to. She said that she had heard of it. I encouraged her to visit. She then thanked me, and we hugged goodbye.
I thought, “My, there are a lot of young fish at this Home Depot whom Jesus is after!” This time the exchange was not just that of a product, but an exchange of darkness for light, a soul out of hell into heaven! Jesus ransom!
“Lord, Jesus, I was so in thought about the goodness of Your hand on me during the time of this health challenge. As I was talking to You about this, You set my attention on the girl in front of me whom the Father was drawing to Himself to know You. I could not have heard You through all the thoughts running through my mind and the feelings in my body were it not for the help of Your Spirit. I did not think that I had it in me to talk about You at that moment. But what else could I talk about except You! I was concerned about what is going on in my body, waiting on You to heal and deliver me. You do not stop saving souls no matter what I am going through. Oh Lover of Souls, You never stop, do You? What have I to do with souls, Saviour of the World?! One more stone on Your crown, Messiah! Salvation belongs to You, Son of God, JESUS!”
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 2 Timothy 1:10
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
All scripture is KJV.
